Luckily we have a Medieval Times close to us.  We love going there for a brief stay-cation!  We love to take advantage of any Groupons and sales.  This upcoming BOGO is a great deal!
Medieval times definitely gives us our fantasy fix (that satisfies this Disney loving family)
Last summer we took our 3 year old for the first time and he loved it! He still continues to talk about his Knight adventures.
My husband and I even went for an occasional date night before David.  It is fun for all ages.
  • Perfect for a Fantasy Lover Once you are ushered in you get your picture taken with either the Princess (who is as pretty as any Disney princess) or with the sword.  My adventure loving son opted to pose with the sword, smiling ear to ear. He feel in love instantly when he saw the facade.  Our little boy eating dinner in a castle- yes please!
  • Great for Special Occasions Before the show starts there are drinks a plenty to be purchase a head of time and souvenirs too (note we got suckered into buying a light up sword)  Also you can check out some of the horses before the show starts.  The king comes out welcomes all the guests and Knight those who are celebrating a special occasion.
  • Good Seats- no matter what.  I don't think there is a bad seat in the house.  We have sat in the back and in the front-each seat had its advantage.  Last time we sat next to the King and Princess, who gave the best performances I have ever seen. They always remained in character. My son couldn't take his eyes off of them.
  • Good food  The meal is a 3 courses, soup, dinner and dessert, which you eat with yours hands.  Oh it is messy fun! Like I said my fussy son tried everything. He loved tearing into his chicken and drinking his soup from the bowl. This would never fly at home. The food is very tasty and we were even able to grab a to go box for our leftovers!
  • Great for preschoolers The have booster seats if you are attending with little ones.  We tried it but David was so excited he stood most of the time, so he could cheer for our knight!  We didn't feel like the show was too scaring either for sensitive kids.  If the jousting is too much, the knights spend time do spend a fair amount of time showboating with their horses too.
Medieval Times is well-loved by our family!

Disney's Frozen Fever Trailer

Get your Frozen fix March 13th when the Frozen Fever short airs in front of Cinderella.  Elsa catches a cold while trying to plan Anna's birthday party with Kristoff, and all sort of craziness ensues.   So far my favorite scene is this:

I can always relate to Anna's morning hair.

Guess what's next?  Frozen Fever merchandise!
Check out these beautiful girls!  It is nice to see Elsa in a new dress (I bet we will see a lot of it at Halloween)

I am sure other stores will soon follow.

Hope this satisfies your Frozen fix!

Family Favorite Friday-The PeopleMover

My brave 3 year old son, thinks The PeopleMover is THE BEST roller coaster in Magic Kingdom.
David is an adventurous kid.  He can even be a little daredevil at times.  However Disney's roller coasters are a little to much for him.  See the below shot on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, clinging to life on Daddy's arm.

Those of you that might have been lucky enough to ride the newest roller coaster at Magic Kingdom know it's pretty tame. Last year's trip was the first time that David was tall enough to ride Test Track and he hated it too.  I take that back he liked the idea of Test Track... designing your own car-taking it out on a drive that is very exciting for a toddler.  The ride part was "too fast."

Then we tried The Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover.  Now it is my son's favorite "roller coaster." On our last trip we went on it several times.  I have always been a fan of the ride.  I find it relaxing.  I loved it when I was pregnant with David because it gave me a glimpse of Space Mountain.  It's so hard to be in Disney and not being to ride your favorites (I can make a very sad blog post just about that) My youngest nephew used to call it the Poop Train.  Our family has a history with the PeopleMover.

In case my above highlights hasn't have convinced that this is one of our family's favorites, here's why:

No Wait
A Disney Classic-The PeopleMover opened in Disneyland in 1967, and in 1975 at Disney World's Magic Kingdom
Sneak a Peek of Space Mountain- One our last trip Space Mountain was down.  We were able to snap this incredible picture with the lights on

Miles from Tomorrowland-  This is a bonus!  How cool is it that Miles from Tomorrowland's family works for the TTA

One Lil Spark Mom"s #DisneySide Cars Party Review

I received free products in order to host the #DisneySide @HomeCelebrations. The opinions expressed here are my own.

On Valentine's Day our family was very lucky to host our 2nd #DisneySide @HomeCelebration.  We received our party box from BSM Media and Disney a few weeks ago.  We were so excited to run with the great ideas that were suggested for a Cars themed play date.  I put my own spin on it deciding to have a Valentine's brunch. With the help of Pinterest and all the creative Moms out there, our party was a huge success!

I am a busy working Mom, who loves hosting parties, visiting our friends and while blogging on the side.  Of course our family loves DISNEY!  Hosting this #DisneySide party was a great way to combine all the things I love.   However, I ran out of time to bake so most of stuff I served were quick fixes or store bought.

The goodies we served at the party were assorted pastries, Frozen cereal (I had to try it), mini pancakes, and Twinings Tea for the adults.
See some of our food below:

Luigi's Tower of Tires (aka mini chocolate donuts)

A Meatless Breakfast Burrito Bar showcasing Beyond Meet product seasoned with Taco seasoning.

The kids attending loved the Disney themed activities like making Fab Five banners out of straws.  Most of the young ones never seen a paper fortune teller before (this reminded me of being young and predicting who our famous boyfriends will be)

We played pin the mouth on Mickey Mouse.
(yes my child is cheating)

I found these awesomely easy instructions of how to make a home-made piƱata on Pinterest, which was super easy to make.  I used a Trader Joe's paper bag, a plastic hanger, and some left over streamers.  It was just hard enough to break and the kids loved it.

Overall the party was a huge success!  I know a lot of little ones that took a long Valentine's Day nap!

Disney Cruise Line announces Star Wars Day at Sea

How exciting! Disney Cruise Line announces Star Wars Day at Sea on the Fantasy during select sail dates through January through April 2016.  Check it out here!  It also includes screenings of the new Star Wars VII movie, meet and greet with select Star Wars characters (maybe they will include the new movie, and Rebels, with the classics), themed food and deck party.  And of course exclusive merchandise!!!

Earlier this month also announced that it has big changes for Hollywood Studios which will include a larger Star Wars presence. I am thrilled that Lucas and Disney has joined forces.  I can only imagine what changes this will bring to the parks.  This Star Wars themed cruise is a step in the right direction.
I have a young son that is requesting a Star Wars Rebels themed birthday party.  He also has us promising him to take him to the new Star Wars film when it comes out.  As parent who has so many fond memories of the original trilogy being released, I cannot wait to share the new Star Wars with my son.  I remember watching Empire Strikes Back in the movie theaters, worried about Luke Skywalker and crying thinking Han Solo really died when he was frozen in carbonite.  And the toys oh how bad I wanted the toys.  My mother nagged me that these were boy's toys something little girls shouldn't play with.  Number one reason why I collected as an adult.  Anyways enough about Star Wars sorted past!  Make way the future! Maybe Star Wars Land will happen?!!!

Showing our #DisneySide with an @HomeCelebration

I received free products in order to host the #DisneySide @HomeCelebrations. The opinions expressed here are my own.

This year we have been selected by MomSelect and Disney to host a #DisneySide @HomeCelebration.

Our theme: Cars!

Perfect for my 3 1/2 year old son.  He was so excited when our box arrived, as soon in the below video:

We are even more excited to throw our party.  This year we decided to through a Valentine's brunch with Car theme games.

Pinterest!  Pinterest! Pinterest has so many great ideas for our party.  I started my board here.  It wasn't hard to find great party ideas for Cars themed birthday parties, so we are using them.
Get your children involved.  This is our second time throwing a party.  My son is getting used to have a Disney party at this time of year. Now he tells me who he wants to invite and what he wants to eat.  What a great excuse to get together with our friends!
Hitting up the Dollar Store.   I love to peruse the Dollar Store and Target's dollar bins.  You never know what Disney goodies you might find.  Plus it is a great place to look for extra party supplies that you might be lacking. Might as well keep costs low.
Your guests are great source to add some extra Disney Magic to your party.  Last year, I was overwhelmed by how many of our guests wanted to bring a dish to pass (and they were Disney themed dishes-everyone wanted to Rock their #DisneySide!)  Plus they offered to share there pictures.  When you host sometimes it is hard to cut away for some quality picture time,
Disney's websites like Disney @HomeCelebrations and Disney Family's Spoonful has a ton of creative ideas.  Spoonful has a lot of printables and recipes that are perfect for Disney parties.
Use everything in your box. There is so much included in that magical box from Disney. We plan to utilize every bit of it either as supplies or giveaways.  I love  the challenge!  Like I feel stumped about how I am going to use my free sample of  Beyond Meat but I am determine to use it at the party.

Have fun!

Farewell to the Hat! Enjoy these pictures!

On January 7, 2015 Disney started the removal process of the Sorcerer's Hat at Hollywood Studios.  Nothing has been officially announced about what will replace it, if anything.  Hollywood Studios is undergoing a major overhaul with many rumors about Star Wars presence expanding, and a Cars Land addition.  I'm not sure what will be the end results will be.
Personally I have never been fan of hat. I like the seeing the theater facade of The Great Movie Ride, like the below photo.  I hope we can enjoy the view a little bit before anything new is added.

Photo taken in 1999. With my lovely back of my head in the blue baseball cap.

Knowing that the Sorcerer's Hat was rumored to be removed. My husband took this wonderful detailed shots on our last trip in November 2014.  Enjoy!

 Inside, looking up

The star swirl

The best thing about the hat was the pin store located underneath.  I always had good luck finding limited edition pins at this location.

Will you miss the Hat?
