Our DisneySide @ Home Celebration

I received free products in order to host the Disney Side @Home Celebrations. The opinions expressed here are my own.

I was given an awesome opportunity to host a DisneySide @ Home Celebration.  I was thrilled to death to be chosen but also panicked at the same time.  We live in a small 2 bedroom apartment.  Yikes how do we fit everyone in there?! And how do you entertain a group of 1-6 year olds?!  After some careful reconfiguration of our home we figured it out!  We created our own mini-Fantasyland!

First, I would like to give you some background about our family.  We are huge Disney Fans! We collect Vinylmation, play Disney Infinity, Pin Trade and try to go to Walt Disney World every couple years. Throwing this party came easy to us.  My husband came up with most of the ideas for the activity areas.
We converted our dinning room into Storybook Circus, utilizing a Circus Tent that we bought Ikea for our son, and a fun tunnel.

Next door we had Fairytale Hall, a Princess backdrop for photo opportunities.

and after the party, the princess fell (too much partying):

We converted our hallway into Under the Sea-Journal of the Little Mermaid, using streamers, balloons.  I also included a few fishing poles for the Dollar Tree (which were not sturdy enough for the rigorous activity of a small group of toddlers)

Next we had a fun selection of snacks for guests to enjoy.  The awesome part was the snacks that our guests contributed.  Bringing a snack to pass was optional, I know many of the mom's work full-time and it can be a challenge to throw something together. Somehow we pulled it off!
One guest brought Mickey Muenster Quesadillas
Another created allergy friendly, gluten free Nemo cookies
Other quests brought fruit, and various snacky goodies.

I contributed The Grey Stuff, which was a big hit.

and cupcakes

and a create your own Snack Mix Bar

We played Bingo, and used the HP paper as prizes.

Also played a quick game of Disney Trivia

We tried a guess which Disney character you are, by putting pictures on the backs of our guests.

We created a Toy Story Themed Guess How Many Army Men

I think the party was a huge success, despite the small space that is was thrown in. Next time maybe Disney can provide me with a house- ;) hint hint wink wink  At times the toddlers were hard to control and wrangle up, which is to be expected. The best thing about the party was the opportunity to just get together with friends for no reason other then a party about Disney. When we work it's hard to see everyone on weekends... well just because things come up.  The party gave us a great excuse just to get together just because.  We have the same feeling about our Disney vacations. It is an opportunity to hang out, relax, get to spend some quality time with each other. That means more to me than anything else.
